WiiHD is a huge fan of online gaming, but not just any online gaming. Core gaming in genres like racing, fighting, and shooters. So now we want to do our part to help the core Clan community on Wii make themselves known and increase their membership. We will begin listing notable clans that actively engage in clan wars in games like Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. We will however keep the gates, so not just any clan listing will be accepted. A clan needs to demonstrate viability to be listed
WiiHD is now unveiling a gallery of user created videos from Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (MoHH2), currently the best FPS on Wii, and the only one with online multiplayer. We'll be doing this for a number of similar games as they come out. If you want your video included, just hit the link above and use the submission form.
WiiHD is your one-stop shop for hardcore gaming on the Wii.
Hardcore gamers frequently belittle the Wii for its low-power CPU, small storage space and gimicky casual games. Nintendo didn't keep their promise to focus on both hardcore AND casual games, but they did design a control system that is truly next-gen. Rumors of similar controls for PS3 and the 360 tell that tale. Sure, you can accurately control a 3D game with dual analog. You can also communicate in binary, but why would you want to? The Wii Remote rivals the PC keyboard and mouse as a control mechanism for 3D worlds, and it leaves dual-analog as a relic of the past. It can change the way games are played. Hardcore gaming isn't just about distracting ADD patients with shiny gfx, it's about delivering a whole new way of playing.
The Wii's FPS controls have finally been perfected with the release of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. In November of 2007, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 brought the first taste of online FPS to the system, and the most customizable controls we've seen so far. Nintendo's focus may be elsewhere, but if you buy, the games will come. The most exciting game on the menu now is The Conduit, a new original IP from High Voltage that promises the whole package for the first time. The Wii has overtaken the xbox 360's 1 year lead and has the largest install base of any console. Talk of most of them being casual gamers is a misnomer—the new casual gamers mostly live in the same household as a hardcore gamers. If developers will finally stop phoning in Wii development and give us complete games, they'll see incredible returns.
This site will follow, document, review, compare and contrast the Wii's hardcore games with your help. There's good news on the horizon. Be a part of it at WiiHD. And leave your casual games at the door.

Blast Works received a warm reception from reviewers and is looking to get some more loving from playas by slashing the price. In a press release today, Majesco announced the new price of $19.99 (down from $39.99 originally), effective immediately. A quick check at amazon says that immediately really does mean immediately.
What are you waiting for? Go build, fuse and destroy, or least hit the break and check out the gallery.

The last lighting deal today is a wireless nunchuck for just $24. That's barely more expensive than a normal chuck. If you've been watching for one, now's your chance.
Update 1:Yesterday's experiment didn't go as well as I'd planned. It's possible that Amazon has recently refined their system to not add higher dollar items to Quick Picks to thwart just this type of deal. I'm not giving up yet though, it could just be a timing thing. I'm going to see if it come up tomorrow and I'll let you know.
Do you want to get a DS a little cheaper (not much point in trying with the always out of stock Wii)? WiiHD can help you knock off 5%. It's not much, but it's enough to buy a travel charger or some other knick-knack. It's also enough to feed WiiHD's indentured hamsters power WiiHD's headquarters for a week. Method adapted and localized for DS from LockerGnome's general guide on the topic.
Okay the basic point of this exercise is to get Amazon to recommend a DS Lite to you, and then to make that DS the only thing in your recommendations list. Once we do that, when Amazon makes a custom Quick Picks deals list for you the next day, they'll grab something from those recommendations, and if the DS is the only thing there, you'll get a guaranteed 5% off.
The catch to the Lockergnome system above is that it didn't work just so when WiiHD tested it out with the DS (check after the break to see why). So here's our tweaked Just for the DS system:
If there are any items listed there, check the "Do Not Use for Recommendations" box next to each and every item. If you love Amazon as much as we do, this could take a while.
Now go to this embarrassing item, A Nintendo DS Lite Travel Kit Pink, and scroll down to just before the user reviews. There's a check box there that reads "I own it".
Try to forget your serious gamer reputation, and click that check box. If you have a leather belt, placing it between your teeth prior to clicking may help prevent accidentally biting off your tongue as you do the deed. This generates the recommendations that you need.
Now click on "We have recommendations for you" at the top of the page.
There will be several items including a DS Lite (probably the Cobalt/Black version). Select "Not Interested" under every item EXCEPT the DS. Refresh your results to make sure the DS Lite is the only item listed.
Wake up the next day, click on Today's Deals, and scroll down to "Quick Picks". Add the DS to your cart, and make sure you complete your order within 60 minutes of putting it in your cart, and you just saved a whopping $6.50.
5% isn't worth it for just any old item, but it is tempting at around the $50 mark if you are a poor student. So for instructions to use this on Wii games (an everything else), as well as to find out why Lockergnome's original guide didn't work so well for the DS, hit the break.
